Welcome
to Glen Callan, the lodge of Kionehenin (a 115 acre private estate, with large gardens, in the
Isle of Man) on the north side of Dhoon
Glen -
which is close to amenities in Laxey and Ramsey.
The
Manx heath and cliffs, that form part of the estate, provide
nesting sites for Hen Harriers, Choughs and Peregrine Falcons
making Glen Callan an ideal base for lovers of birdwatching,
wild-life, walking and painting.
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has
designated Dhoon Glen, and parts of the Kionehenin estate,
an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) because of
its very high national importance for flora and wildlife
habitats. |
